Or maybe don’t – it’s all about the music after all.Born and raised in west Berlin Michel Neigenfnd – what his parents named him – had only music and collecting records on his mind from an early age. Influenced by British ‚77 punk- rock and US punk from the late 80ies he soon realised musical boundaries were nothing for him. His equally large passion for hip-hop paved the way to frst electronic productions. Big beat, drum ‚n‘ bass, acid techno, early spiral tribe stuff…His frst fusion festival in early 2000 as well as many illegal open airs and parties in a Berlin flled with open spaces after the fall of the wall, made clear the path he would take. Up until then a party DJ with diverse genres, his passion for techno/house music steadily grew. Through own events with Bachstelzen, a collective of organisers that has greatly influenced Berlin‘s party scene with its events in elaborately themed off-locations, the course was set for frequent techno/house DJ gigs.In 2006 his own productions started gathering appeal on different netlabels followed by the frst real release together with Sebo and Nayan Soukie on Sasse‘s label Mood Music in 2010.Following further releases, the Boys Don‘t Eat EP on Katermukke brought a frst taste of international success with high placings on the Beatport techhouse charts (4. and 17.), as well as regular airplay on national and international radio. John Digweed even signed two tracks from the URSL 08 (Everything Will Change EP) and re-released them on his extremely successful Live In London mix.Further productions for Canadian, US and British labels followed as well as several releases on German labels. The steadily growing success of the URSLRecords label which Madmotormiquel has been running together with Sebo and Soukie & Windish since 2010, has been a continuing reason for being booked way beyond the boundaries of Berlin. Two Brazil tours, gigs all over Europe – over a hundred in 2012, productions which regularly feature in charts of notable Djs such as Martin Landsky, Tim Green, Tube & Berger, Robosonic and Dirty Dor̈ ing leave the undoubtable impression somebody knows what he‘s doing. In the studio as well as behind the decks.
–
Stavroz was formed in 2011 by IJsbrand & Gert, both dj’s and sound engineers looking for a way to channel their musical antics. Soon thereafter, Maxim & Pieter joined on live shows and in the studio. Their first EP release “The Ginning” was picked up on international blogs, resulting the highest position on the Hype Machine and was chosen vinyl of the month by the German ‘Faze Magazine’. Back home in Belgium, they were awarded second best breakthrough artist, coming in just after Oscar & The Wolf.
Known for injecting an overall ethnic, acoustic and organic vibe to electronic music, these four friends pocketed releases for Kindisch, Laut & Luise, Bedrock and their own label ‘Moodfamily’ in Ghent. Their intimate live set and unique dj sets were quickly picked up, sending them on regular trips abroad. Only to return home for some Fifa and their weekly show on Belgian National alternative radio ‘Studio Brussel’ where they display an uncanny ability to combine the old with the new and the East with the West. Their acclaimed latest release “Talabout” brings you where no one ever goes to, a destination unreachable by common means, but a place blurring the lines between having a dream and a state of mind. Welcome to Talabout.
Stavroz manage to create a wholesome, comforting soundtrack for a place, which no words can describe. Take a rest, lay down, close your eyes and listen to a story told in an orchestral fashion, with such profession and ear for details. Stavroz is something different.
–
Viken Arman is a french producer, born and raised in Paris. He considers music as the mirror of his feelings. Versatile and elusive, he doesn’t restrict himself to a unique musical universe.

Since his childhood, he has been exploring various musical registers, merging and composing them according to his mood. His piano knowledge confers him a musical culture as well as an artistic ease that help him when working on his different projects (jazz, classic, film music and more recently electronic music).

His influences as varied as surprising, such as Erik Satie, Trent Reznor, Thomas Newman, Avishai Cohen, Jay Dilla, Herbie Hancock, Ricardo Villalobos, Tigran Hamasyan, Trentemoller, but also a lot of oriental musicians, represent an inexhaustible source of inspiration for this artist who started electronic music at the age of 13.

After several years building his own experience in different Parisian night clubs, he co-founded in 2009 the french collective Minimal Trip. He actively participates in promoting young and talented international artists by inviting them to Paris for their very first performance. Raising more and more attention, this collective gives Viken Arman the opportunity to demonstrate his vast talent during each one of his live performance. He has shared the stage with great artists such as Marc Romboy (Systematic), Joris Voorn (Cocoon), Stimming (Diynamic), Nôze (Circus Company), Frivolous (Cadenza), Acid Pauli (Clown & Sunset / Bar25), Tube & Berger (Kittball Records), Rampa & Re.You (Keinemusic), Niconé (Stil Vor Talent), Avatism (Vakant), Saschienne (Kompakt), Steve Rachmad (100% pure), Terranova (Kompakt), Nico Stojan (Katermukke/Bar25), Valentin Stip (Clown & Sunset), to name few…

Thanks to his work and his creativity which are more and more recognized, Viken Arman is now working on his debut album and collaborates with great artists. With his very unique own style he always remains in a contrast and surprising perspective.

Free guestlist before 11pm, you must submit names via email to VIP@halcyon-SF.com before 6pm on day before event.
