Friday June 8th we welcome WAZE & ODYSSEY to Halcyon alongside one of our favorite New Yorker\u2019s and Halcyon regular, Eli Escobar. We catch up with Firas from W&O, who is flying solo on this most recent run of shows.<\/p>\n

You guys did an awesome LOT RADIO takeover with Eli Escobar and Kenny Dope. They are both ace! Who are some of the artists you\u2019ve worked with that have totally made your fan-boy dreams a reality?<\/p>\n

\n

Armand van Helden & Kenny Dope really, two cool cats. We DJed with Armand at Beyond Wonderland in San Bernadino and he was super cool. I have a grainy photo to show of the us all.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

What do you guys do for fun while not on tour?<\/p>\n

\n

We eat and explore. I love to get out and about into a city and discover new ideas, what the flex is, and generally try and get out of our comfort zone as that is what inspires me the most making music. I\u2019ve learnt so much from spending time in record shops in NYC particularly – it\u2019s a good city to be on your feet so it\u2019s a favourite for digging and getting about easier.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Any funny business to speak of on tour?<\/p>\n

\n

Getting Montezuma’s revenge before a weekend in LA and SF doing gigs wasn\u2019t that pleasant! The rest? Well it\u2019s obviously too rock and roll to say…<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Speaking of fun duos, you have the upcoming release PRISM on W&O STREET TRACKS with The Carry Nation. How did you hook-up with those fun boys?<\/p>\n

\n

Love those guys; we played at Glastonbury and they came to say hi. We are friends with Severino from Horse Meat disco who has supported us from the start and he put us in touch and we got on super well, went for lunch when they were over in London and it all came from there really. So excited by this release and really happy to have an original vocal on the label.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Cool, we can\u2019t wait to hear it in the club! What duos would you love to collaborate with?<\/p>\n

W&O Street Tracks also released the Will Easton banger 18 Month Free Trial this year. When you heard this tune were you immediately sold on it?<\/p>\n

Absolutely. It\u2019s all thanks to Elliot Adamson who played it out in Bristol at a party we played for Eats Everything. Very excited about Will\u2019s future! He\u2019s a talent you\u2019ll be hearing a lot more from.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Are you two usually in agreement about these things?<\/p>\n

Often and sometimes!<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

What do you two regularly disagree on?<\/p>\n

\n

We have spent so much time together we can regularly annoy each other \ud83d\ude42 I think that comes with the territory. It\u2019s like any relationship really.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

What is the one thing you always agree on?<\/p>\n

\n

That we can\u2019t wait to be playing at Halcyon \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Well we are all in agreement that we cannot wait to finally have you at Halcyon! We look forward to having some serious fun!<\/p>\n
