Following the appearance of highly acclaimed All Day I Dream artists, Gorje Hewek & Izhevski on New Year’s Eve, January showcases two other diverse artists from the acclaimed party brand. Jan 2 sees All Day I Dream founder, Lee Burridge step up to the Halcyon decks. Expect the best emotive and crowd-pleasing house and techno to start the year.
On Jan 6, Spanish star and Natura Sonoris label owner, Henry Saiz brings his stunning live set up and unique electronica to Halcyon. Following on Jan 7, techno icon Marco Bailey takes to the turntables. Count on pure, quality techno from the Belgian pioneer. Also on the Jan 7 lineup is the inimitable Timo Maas, ready to tear up the Halcyon dancefloor as he celebrates his recent Grammy nomination for the Timo Maas & James Teej remix of Paul McCartney & Wings ‘Nineteen Hundred And Eighty Five’.
Jan 13 sees Superflu land in San Fran, ready to drop their inimitable house and techno grooves especially for the Halcyon crowds. The German duo never disappoint. On Jan 15 SET presents Guy J. From Tel Aviv to San Fran, the Lost & Found label boss is recognised as one of the premier artists of the electronic generation, so expect big things.
On Jan 20 Common Ground presents, Max Chapman. In just 5 years, this London-based DJ / producer has become one of the most popular names in house and techno, with his productions appearing on labels including Elrow, Madtech and VIVa, supported by Adam Beyer, Hot Since 82, Loco Dice and many more. Next up on Jan 21 is another All Day I Dream favourite, Death On The Balcony. Whether it’s disco-inflected melodies or house and deep techno rhythms, this versatile UK duo can always mix it up and produce something special for the dancefloor.
January 27 welcomes the legendary DJ / Producer, John Acquaviva. Acquaviva is not just an icon to techno fans everywhere, but a crucial cog in electronic music’s fast moving wheel, having founded Plus 8 records with Richie Hawtin and co-founded the game-changing platform, Beatport. He’s joined by the UK’s Simon Baker (aka B.K.R), a man whose unique house and techno has seen him awarded with ‘Track of The Year’ by Resident Advisor for his monster track ‘Plastik’, sign to labels from Cocoon to Drumcode, and win over dancefloors from Fabric to Watergate.
An amazing month of music concludes with Andreas Henneberg on Jan 28. Born and raised in Berlin, this hugely talented DJ and producer is recognised as one of the driving forces in electronic music in this pulsating city. Halcyon is ready for a tech house masterclass. Also on the Jan 28 lineup is Hobo. From Canada to Detroit to Berlin, Hobo’s mantra ‘just never stop moving’ applies equally to the dancefloor wherever he goes. With releases on Minus, Diynamic and Life On Earth among others, Hobo will close January at Halcyon with a touch of genius.
Clubbers will barely be able to rest their feet before February also lands, with the legendary Heist Recordings heading to Halcyon for their first ever USA showcase, bringing Detroit Swindle, Adesse Versions and Nachtbraker. Also in Feb, Darius Syrossian and Nathan Barato touch down with the infamous Ibiza party, Do Not Sleep – official announcements coming soon!
With Halcyon holding one of San Francisco’s (very rare) 24-hour licenses, the events generally have no fixed end time, meaning clubbers can party all the way through until dawn. Although the bar will close at 2am (in accordance to US licensing laws), if the club is still open, it will reopen at 6am for the party to continue as long as people want to dance, giving both DJs and clubbers the freedom to truly immerse themselves in the Halcyon experience.
Halcyon sets new standards; a cutting edge, electronic music destination in San Francisco delivering a multi-sensory clubbing experience like no other.
